AI algorithms, the energy, and the cost

If it was not for artificial intelligence, one wouldn’t have bothered much to run a line of code and charge something for it due to its energy consumption and cost taken. As us humans, or just beings, thinking requires energy. Constant thinking drains energy. Further, the higher complex tasks require more energy. Also, for AI algorithms, since they have gotten larger and complex, enabling sophisticated function within, the energy required to produce the desired output is not insignificant anymore. Well, it never was when you looked at your CPU or GPU fan go wroom while playing or running heavy program. But with AI, the tasks are modularized for eg. text response, 3d-4d model generation, video (4d information) generation given input. Great part is that it works, but not so great part is that it requires lot of energy to train, and these trained AI models are much like rare mythical creatures that are very few of them due to vast limitations on hardware-energy-information requirements, which, only large corporations can afford. Laying off away the dream for a commoner for doing state of the art at home. Perhaps its time to move on to other things, that have not been explored yet.
However, what I wanted to suggest that much like buying a component or 3d printing a component, training of AI models take significant resources (raw material), and processing time, leading to output that can be seen as a processed good. And each functionality of each AI model has a cost, of energy, but for people is mapped to money-cost. So while AI as a software model at current stage is not experiencing self-learning and advanced thinking next to belief like humans do, hardware and energy costs along with understanding of implementation can be major bottlenecks for development, and peaceful life of another kind that was in the past.

The right attitude is yet to be seen for the masses regarding the AI. While disruption will happen at every scale intelligence is used, humans are long to be remain as humans, and AI machines as machines. More human like complex forms will be seen, and would be required to be treated as another complex entity for what it is, to truly grasp the essence of existence that lies therein.
