(an open Qs) can AI ever think?, what is thinking? “Mathematics of thoughts/ideas” would just be feelings and how they react to form a new concept when passing through a neuron somehow resulting in the feeling of new idea along with its association in the universe, in fabric of space

at this point, thinking sounds like mixing of existing ideas to form a new ideas much like adding a new research article to existing research, though how one even finds a new thing existing in the universe …. perhaps recognizing and adding new things to an existing knowledgebase is research
