One of the main reason a being cease to exist is that the body ceases to exist, is aging. Other reasons that cause cessation of life is improper growth of body, which leads to breaking of flow of its being-body in existence.

Body is sustained by inputs given to it, its own function sustains itself, and it outputs things which are not needed in body. Much like a state space diagram:

Body = f(Body, Input)

output = f(Body)

yea, it includes all viatl functions, cellular natural functions of growth, etc

Input also consists of external stimuli, food, physical / chemical forces etc which make changes to the body.

output also consists of material output as well as physical force output

Being ceases to exist when its consciousness generating substrate (or equivalently ‘function’ from software : remember, software is also a

physical thing, as arrangement (i..e structure) of electrons relative to other static material there is, e.g. electrons in NAND flash, or gate.).

And its consciousness generating substrate involves action resulting from functioning cellular functions, which need food, which gives energy (carried by ATP) , and proper structure to function. Structure is suported by other structures. Brain, via entriched blood flow, which is given by energy (suger) from liver, small intestines, and sometiems kidneys, and also other forms from fat and muscle, when certain conditions meet. Hence these organs also which form body, as essential survival core (a being) , as an intelligent action taking agent.

apparantly, all the entire body ofbeing has evolved just for consciousness to sustain in the environments it was created in, and it turns out to be this. There is nothing like consciousness in material world or this physical reality, except itself, I guess maybe, maybe not.

When the body function returns to itself, that is, there is no function change, the body is functionally eternal, that, it can be made exist given surrounding support functions (e.g. food, daily routines,) forever, except aging will morph and degrade functionality. More complexity a thing has, usually easier it is for it to break, unless the complexity allows reinforcement component, a repair mechanism.

Although, in practice, a pseudo-eternity form is achieved, when after certain activation of input, where output from a body is another young body of human (newborn), which repeats the cycle. It does not mean its robust in itself, but eternally present, although, its form morphs and slowly drifts to new forms, which are usually better if better-driving surroundings.

Hence, if the circumstances dont change, the evolution brings the body to a steady state or steady state of particular dynamics.

Above analysis applies to any object, simple or complex, as that is how universe works, its a theory-concept level view which allows to identify the concepts that happen and work in real.
