Mathematical theory of consciousness
Index note c(t) ∈ C ⊂ U as N-dim spike-rate vector; ⟨c(t)⟩ mean state of a book / topic set; model population experience
Conscious beings experience. Experience here is the mental emotion, perception, thoughts, etc. Here we assume that the mental experience is associated with the neural brain activity (which is so far what it has led to). We can describe the neural activity of N neurons as say spike rate in N-dimensional space, this spike rate activity in this space represents or is associated to an conscious experience c among space of all conscious experiences C in this universe U.
At a given time, the sentient conscious being experiences conscious experience c(t).
An example of this, is say, you read a book, which gives the person the conscious experience c(t) from start of the book t=0, to end of the book t=T. Now if asked the overall effect of the book, the conscious state average among all <c(t)>_t=0->T is the mean state of the person, and from which point all the other states are say closer.
Another example is a list of topics t1, t2, .., tN. The way to understand all of these topic at once is to attain the conscious state at the average of it (or some place in some space which is given by say operator < c >) <c(t)>so that all other conscious states of topic are equidistant in reach of thinking and thought, so they can be quickly reached.
Usefulness of these is paramount, for example, the simplicity of the model of understanding of the phenomenon around us so we can quickly think and approach the universe. However, this way of understanding restricts our life and imagination, and is a certain way, the way of the universe, and not much room is left for idle imagination for whiling, or I can say its another form of whiling around.
But more usefulness of this is to model the conscious experience of populations on the earth, so beings can have a emotionally experiencially well content and richer lives, and hence richer meaning in existence, for life that there is only one.
