Why do you need money?
At bare minimum, you need it to survive, to breathe, to eat food, to rent a shelter, security (from harm)

To earn money, is provided using services, for that one must sell shelter, and food, and security (from harm).

Human beings require essentials air-food-water-security to exist. But far away from ideal, where motivation, health, growth, thriving, require more things.
