What happens after people die?

After a person has died, his belongings (including the body, surroundings, etc) hold no longer the meaning as the sentience which had belonging to it with the peculiar feelings of thoughts awareness perception about it ceases to exist (most likely as I think, although large number of people would have varying opinions) . If there are surrounding entities which are closer to the person, they may have or develop the same kind of thoughts, or similar in order to ‘pay their respects’ and may keep the meaning alive through their existence. And that person can be remembered as long as it can be read from the available information.
Its as if all the belongings associated in the conscious space are returned to the universe, or under someone else’s possession.

However, in a sense, the conscious life would have formed at some time in the universal scale, if it is an emergent property of the universe, it may be unclear what future holds, as magical new things can happen on research level, with generations, however, it may be restricted by the beings, or its influence on the beings..

You have to wonder what people were doing for past 4000 to 2000 years, and what in 2000-1000 years, and what has suddenly changed, that people seemingly have massive growth on the Earth. Humans would have been relatively same in physical structure. Humans, as it appears have been evolving (for e.g. me to exist), and will keep on evolving (for someone else to exist down the line, which will have a unique experience of existing), its as if the experience of existence is unique one in all universe across all space and time.
But perhaps, the languages slowly evolved, the tools slowly evolved, and the life as I perceive which seem to go fast paced, but for a new one it may look the same slow life, with vast magical possibilities.
